The new custom server from five-ninesolutions (FNS-R3-16750)
Due to popular demand we have been working to produce an Intel based 3U server with 8 cores and 10.2TB of storage and all within a 3U form factor, and we have done it!!
Based on our own solution (FNS-R3-16750) and equipped with a redundant PSU and 16 SAS/ SATA removable hard disk drive bays, this multi purpose solution can be used in multiple applications. Initially we have been running tests based on shear performance and throughout of the sys PCI-E cards. We have tested most of the leading graphics cards from NVIDIA & ATI as well as RAID cards from ATTO, 3Ware and LSI. In addition to this several Bluefish, Digital Rapids, AJA and DVS video cards have also be tested, for further details please send us an email specifying the configuration you require further information on.
With respect to the performance of the disk read speed we have seen in excess of 1.2GB/s meaning this box can even deal with 4k video and depending on the application this can be real-time.
