Queens University Cluster Installation.
five-ninesolutions have just completed the installation of a 64 Node Sun v20z Cluster interconnected with ultra low latency, MPI interfaces from Myrinet (www.myrinet.com). Now fully configured, the Cluster is to be used by the University for state-of-the-art electronic structure and molecular dynamics simulations and will be running SUSE Linux on all nodes.
Although up against some tough competition five-ninesolutions offered a fully customised service down to delivery of the equipment directly into the machine room ready for installation. In the past the University had suffered from a poor after sales service from previous suppliers resulting in an increased lead-time before the cluster was ready to run.
Here at five-ninesolutions we believe that customer satisfaction is paramount and can only be achieved if maximum effort is applied. So, as part of the installation an engineer spent seven days on installation and configuration on site at Queens University of Belfast, with a considerable amount of help from the University staff; Malachy Montgomery, Cristián Sánchez and Tony Paxton. Thanks Guys!!
When asked how satisfied with the service and solution provided Dr Tony Paxton, of the Atomistic Simulation Centre ( http://titus.phy.qub.ac.uk) had the following to say;
"I am delighted with five-ninesolutions customer commitment and would recommend Andy to anyone contemplating a similar project. Thanks Andy for your attention to detail, that's what matters."
Finally here at five-ninesolutions we would like to thank all at the University for this opportunity and hope we may again be of service in the future. Also Good luck to Cristián when he returns back to Argentina.
