BeamTV Awards powered by five-ninesolutions Signature solution.
BEAM.TV ( www.beam.tv) has banished the nightmare of submitting work to awards shows on tape. For no extra cost, they will distribute archived commercials amongst the world's most prestigious advertising awards schemes. And it's all done online, straight from your desktop.
Since February of 2005 the Signature Beambox has been successfully serving media at award shows around the world, the highlight being at ‘Cannes Lions 2005, 52nd International Advertising Festival'.
Used in seven award rooms including the ‘Grand viewing theatre' the machines were run continuously for up to 14 hours a day being pushed to the limit both on performance and environment.
Drew Bates (Awards show manager, BeamTV) provided the original specification to provide a small form factor computer based solution with the following functionality;
- Easy to transport
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Large removable media storage
- Low noise, efficient cooling
- Audio output via Phono connectors
- Composite video output via BNC
- Wireless connectivity
- High performance dual graphics output
- Temperature monitoring
Suitable COTS products were found and bespoke components were designed and manufactured. The system was then fully integrated, tested and soak tested then shipped to BeamTV for active service.
