Five-Nine Solutions Partner with Digital Vision for Broadcast Live.
30th January 2008 - Witness the extreme performance of Five-Nine’s new 8400 Series Workstation and the 2000 Series Storage Servers, Five-Nine has partnered with Digital Vision at Broadcast LIVE/Video Forum. To provide the ultimate DI test on their stand, Five-Nine Solutions will be running the Digital Vision Film Master colour grading system demonstrating extreme performance and a combination of high-end software and hardware. In addition Five-Nine will also be demonstrating Digital Vision’s Phoenix automated restoration software, which was launched at IBC 2007.
Throughout the show a total solution, with Fibre Channel storage and a stand alone Workstation with fully integrated SAS drives will be running. Meeting price, performance and budgets for all. In maximum configuration the 8400 Series Workstation can be equipped with dual Intel X5482 CPU’s, 128GB 800MHz DDR2 memory, 15TB of SATA or 6TB of SAS storage, Dual NVIDIA 5600 SDI Graphics cards as well as the normal DVD or Blue Ray burner.

The Digital Vision Film Master is a resolution-independent, end-to-end finishing solution for feature films, commercials, long form television, and restoration. Film Master projects can be viewed and rendered in all Digital Vision software systems, releasing the major revenue generating system for further client work. It is currently used by UK facilities including Pepper, Screen Scene, The Sanctuary, M8 Media, The Hat Factory, Films at 59, BBC Resources and The Farm.
Phoenix combines the technologies of Digital Vision’s Emmy Award-winning DVNR/DVO video noise reduction/image enhancement systems and elements of its Film Master grading system. It also incorporates new motion estimation methods that enable intelligent algorithms to automate much of the work required to fix common problems. By handling these problems with fast background processes and little operator intervention, Phoenix enables a viable new service line for restoring content in high volumes.
